Perfect nights and long bombs off the tee made for one epic showdown that saw three new champions crowned at the World Long Drive Championship at WinStar Golf Club. Jeff Crittenden took home his second Masters Division belt, while Chloe Garner and Kyle Berkshire both earned their first titles in the Women’s and Open divisions, respectively.

9. River Poker Series

We celebrated Labor Day with the River Poker Series. This action-packed poker tournament is a favorite for both veteran pros and amateur players. Our Labor Day series was one for the books with multiple events, thousands of runners, and millions on the line.

With so many exciting games coming in, we need to make some room. Beginning May 6, 2019, Crazy 4 Poker, Double Deck Blackjack and Multiplier Blackjack will no longer be available in our table games pits.

IN WITH THE NEW
We’ve begun to roll out a handful of exciting new table games with even more opportunities to win. Available now is Dai Bacc, a traditional baccarat game with high-paying bonus bets. In Dai Bacc, you have the opportunity to play the Tiger 7 and Ox 6 bets, which pay 40-1 odds, and the Kill Bet, which pays 30-1 odds. These great new options allow you to win even if you lose your main bet.

Beginning May 9, two more table games are headed your way. Criss Cross Poker with Stax Progressive features five community cards in a cross formation, allowing you to play both Ante Across and Ante Down. Additionally, you’ll be able to place an optional 5-Card Bonus bet for even more opportunities to win.

“We are honored to be nominated by the Academy of Country Music for Casino of the Year for the ninth time,” said general manager Jack Parkinson. “To be designated in the same class as some of the world’s finest casino venues speaks volumes about the dedication to support entertainment by both our team members and guests.”

The Academy of Country Music is dedicated to “improving lives by connecting fans, artists and the industry” of country music. The Academy was established in 1964 to support country music artists like Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Tex Williams. The first official country music awards show was held in 1966 and, for the last 50-plus years, has honored country music’s biggest stars. This year’s show, the 54^th Academy of Country Music Awards was no different, featuring performances from current greats including Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood and Country legends like George Strait.

World Long Drive

For the third consecutive year, we had to opportunity to host the Volvik World Long Drive Championship at the WinStar Golf Club. And for the third year in a row, new champions were crowned in all three divisions. Eddie Fernandes earned top honors in the Masters Division, while Phillis Meti picked up her third career Women’s Division title and Maurice Allen blasted a 393-yard on his final ball of the championship round to take home his first Open Division championship belt.

Introducing Craps and Roulette

We welcomed two new gaming experiences in 2018 with the introduction of classic casino games Craps and Roulette. Added to our already-extensive selection of more than 100 table games, you can find these two icons at multiple locations across the casino.

RIO Gaming Plaza Opens

RIO is the newest exciting city at WinStar! Featuring more than 500 electronic games, bar and dedicated player’s club desk, this non-smoking area was designed specifically with our dedicated patrons in mind.

Poker Room Updated

With 55 tables across 12,000 square feet, our newly-updated poker room is officially the biggest in Oklahoma. We now offer table-side food and drink service so you don’t have to leave your chair and daily poker tournaments are sure to keep the action rolling!

Oklahoma’s Largest Workplace Blood Donor

We take our community initiatives seriously, and one that’s near and dear to our hearts is our partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute. We had the privilege of hosting four blood drives this year. These drives raised more than 1,000 units of blood, which translates to more than 3,600 lives saved this year.

New General Manager Introduced

Jack Parkinson joined us as our new general manager after serving in the same role at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK. Jack oversees the strategic direction and growth of WinStar to ensure the best possible experience for both our employees and guests.

One of our biggest upgrades in 2018 was a brand-new website, urbanrest.space! New features were added to improve the overall user experience, including simplified navigation, a new My WinStar portal and even a game finder.
